Name: Faris Gender: Male Age: 18 Race: Human Character Appearance: Faris has dark brown hair and grayish-blue eyes. Strapped to his back he wears a leather quiver for his arrows and a finely crafted long bow. He keeps a short sword at his side and almost always has a dagger, though it usually isn't used for fighting. Also, an eight-pointed star is etched on his palm, however, it is only visible when he is doing strong magic. Character History: Born within the Empire, it had always been intended that Faris would be raised to be a soldier in Galbatorix’s army. This soon proved to be a problem, as Faris didn’t take anything seriously, and thought of war as a waste of time. Hoping to improve his attitude his parents sent him off to a military school. It soon showed that he was only barely adequate at all the weapons except one. Having blasted away the rest of the class (and once the teacher’s hat) in archery, Faris was placed before a panel of Galbatorix’s experts to determine if he had what it took to become on of the elite of the Empire. One teacher (still sore about the hat incident) was watching from a distance. As soon as Faris fired his first arrow, the teacher muttered something under his breath and the arrow shot of toward the panel. Thinking quickly, Faris shot two more arrows. The second arrow jolted the first onto a different course and zoomed off in anther direction. The third arrow hit the second knocking it away as well. The third arrow proceeded to zip through a nearby lantern and speed toward the guilty teacher. Said teacher dove for the ground. Believing the arrow to have missed, he stood up proudly, and about to say something about Faris’s failed assassination attempt, when he saw it. The first two arrows had both hit there marks, the dead center of the rooms two targets, but that wasn’t the worst. When he looked around he saw, now only a shriveled shadow of its former, pointed, glory, was his hat. Among the board, the decision was unanimous. Faris had passed with flying colors, and would be sent to the final stage of his training that was required for all of Galbatorix’s highly ranked soldiers, magic. In a restricted area deep in the heart of Uru’Bean, he was taught the ancient language as well as the rules of magic. By the time he emerged from the facility, Faris had a good grasp on magic, especially wind-based magic. Soon Faris’s record earned him a meeting with Galbatorix himself. Only two people really knew what happened in that meeting and they were the participants. Though it is known that Faris emerged from it with a job as a special operative for the Empire that takes him to most parts of Alageasia. (But rarely within the capital itself) It is also rumored among the castle guards Galbatorix came out of it with a headache and a strong desire never to have to speak to Faris again. Recently, he trained to use a short sword, and began a quest with Sirian; a mysterious person whose motives for helping Faris are still unclear to him. At the end, he found the Isidar rak Otho, (Star of Fate) which made him stronger, both physically and magically. Character Personality: Faris is generally a carefree person, though, in really serious situations he is able to assess the situation and the surrounding quickly, and act on the information he finds. He enjoys his job for the scenery and salary it pays. He is very likable and people trust him easily. Abilities: Faris has amazing precision and skill with a bow, and likes to use the surrounding environment to his advantage. He is capable of wielding a sword, but he tends to rely on his bow and magic when he can. |

Thx, and I'm rather hoping that if that ever happens the circumstances will lean in his favor... a lot.
