This was an imprtant day at ellesmera. The Varden troops in tronjheim were sending a party of dwarves down to serve under the elves, hopefully to regain the elves companionship in their wars against the empire. Queen islanzadi had agreed and the queen was sending out a party of her twently best elves to meet them in Du Weldenvarden. Slar sneered as he looked up at the castle. Soon galbatorix would overthrow that retched place, the place where his parents were killed 5 years ago. Growling, he went into his dwelling andbegan to contact Galbatorix with his mind. Before Slar had returned to ellesmera, Galbatorix had honed his communicating skills to perfection, and he could now contact galbatorix from almost anyway in alageasia. 'What information do you bring, my friend?' galbatorix questioned. 'The varden at farthen dur have managed to regain the help of the elves here by sending a group of dwarves to help build fortifications around the city. The queen is sending her twenty best elves to greet them in Du Weldenvarden. What orders do i receive y lord?' Slar could sense that Galbatorix' mind was working furiously. 'I have contacted another of my allies, the leader of the Kull. he is near your location with an army of urgals. Follow the elven party silently, Im sure you will be able to contact his mind to give him the order to attack. Make sure you only signal to attack as soon as you are away from Ellesmera and deep into Du Weldenvarden. good luck friend, let noone see you!' With that the link was broken. Slar proceeded then to contact the Kull leader and did so with ease. he relayed instructions on where he ought to wait and left him to prepare the ambush. There were still some hours to go before the parting ceremony so Slar restlessly sharpened and polished his blade before going to his workshop and making some arrows. Hislast attack on an elven party was from afar and had left him short of arrows. He smiled as he made them, he was slowly crumbling the varden right under their noses! The time came and Slar left from a different gate, skirting round the perimeter and following the party from in the trees. This way, no one would know he had left to follow them. he crept along at a great pace but making no sound in the darkening forest. The elves were relaxed, talking merrily and laughing, occasionally bursting into a merry song. Slar reached out with his mind, 'Now'. A hail of black arrows, almost invisible in the dark, soared at the elves. Four of them fell under the barrage. Urgals, led by their chief, charged at them and Slar came from behind. The elves leered violently at their traitor, who smiled before engaging them in combat. He felled one with his blade before setting another alight with a quick spell. The urgals were losing many troops as the elven swordcraft is unmatchable, but every time a hail of arrows came the elves lost another man. Only one man remained and he crouched down, alert and watching only Slar. The elf was staring at him, ignoring the vast urgal force. Slars mind reached out, 'shoot him'. A single black arrow flew silently from above and pierced the man between his eyes. he fell, the last of queen islanzadis elite. Slar shook hands with the Kull leader before making his way onwards with the urgals. 'Galbatorix, the elves have been dealt with and I am with the urgal army. We are proceeding onwards to deal with the dwarves.' 'A good plan. Contact me when they are dealt with, I have a much more important job for you back here at uru baen.' they marched onwards and encountered three dwarves. That was all the varden had sent. They slew them with ease and the urgals and slar seperated. 'My King, the dwarves are dead' he informed. 'Good. I know your location. Stay where you are, Im sending a Ra'zac on oneof the flying shadows to pick you up and bring you to me. hang tight slar." |
